Typography
- Create an I am... poem.
- Serif vs. Sans: The Final Battle
- Today's assignment is to experiment with fonts.
- Pick some portion of your poem to create a digital image for like the examples below.
Image Editing
There are many image editors out there both online and to download. For this exercise, we'll be using PIXLR. Before starting, experiment with adding text. Notice that each time you add text (with A tool), that a new layer is created. This helps you move individual pieces of text around the screen. Experiment with color, fonts and size.
- Keep track of fonts you use as that will be part of your reflection next week.
- Don't expect to be finished with this piece by end of class.
- Do be sure to save your image as a PXD (Layered Pixlr Image), so you don’t lose those layers when you come back to this work next week.
Reflect:
Upload your quote. Share the names of the font(s) and write a reflection about why you decided to use the font(s) you used. Also, be sure to credit any image you may have used.
